EPA Announces the Release of the 2010 TRI National Analysis
The TRI National Analysis is an annual report that displays EPA's analysis and interpretation of the most recent Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) data. It includes a variety of documents and webpages, available below, that outline national and local trends in toxic chemical disposal or other releases to the environment. It also includes trends in toxic chemicals managed by TRI facilities, and analyses of certain chemicals of interest, industry sectors, parent companies and geographic areas.

EPA's Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics Releases New Report on its Accomplishments
EPA's Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT) Releases its Accomplishments Report from January 2007 through January 2009. This Web-based report updates the Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics' previous Accomplishment Report to include recent efforts such as the accelerated posting of risk-based and hazard-based prioritizations under the Chemical Assessment and Management Program, or ChAMP; the launching of an investigation into the potential health risks of formaldehyde's use in pressed wood products and the issuance of an interim report on the status of the Nanoscale Materials Stewardship Program (NMSP).

Safer Detergents Stewardship Initiative (SDSI)
Through the Safer Detergents Stewardship Initiative (SDSI), EPA's Design for the Environment (DfE) Program recognizes environmental leaders who voluntarily commit to the use of safer surfactants. Safer surfactants are surfactants that break down quickly to non-polluting compounds and help protect aquatic life in both fresh and salt water.
